Procedures
The Tuesday folder will come home each week. It will contain information from the office and classroom. I will include a comment sheet from me every other week. Please be sure to review class work with your child, especially if you see work that was difficult for your child. I often make comments or suggestions on the work. Also review all other information, and return the folder on Wednesday.
This year we will use a clip chart as a classroom management system school-wide (including specials and the cafeteria). Each student begins the day on “ready to learn”, which is level 4 on the chart. They have the opportunity to move up three levels for consistently showing P.A.C.K. (prepared, always responsible, cooperative, keeping a positive attitude) behavior and wonderful work habits. Sometimes we don’t always have our best days. If a student does not do what is expected, I will give a warning. If the behavior continues, the student will have to move his/her clip down one level and take a time out in the classroom. If the behavior continues, the student will move his/her clip down another level and have a time out in another classroom. If the behavior still continues, the student will go to the office to speak with Dr. Wheeler or Mrs. Condry. You will receive a call from the office or from me. Students can clip their way back up the chart by engaging in appropriate behavior. Your child’s behavior will be recorded in their homework planner. The homework planner will come home inside the homework folder each day. Please check your child’s behavior level, and initial it on a daily basis. This is a great time to discuss behavior expectations with your child.
